Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi's body arrives in Tehran

The body of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi has arrived in Tehran as part of funeral ceremonies scheduled to run over several days, according to state-run news agency IRNA.

A video broadcast by state media shows the official plane showing up at Tehran's Mehrabad air terminal, conveying Raisi's casket. Government and military authorities lined an honorary pathway, and many should have been visible openly sobbing as a tactical escort conveyed the casket.

As per pictures distributed by state media, a seat on the official plane was left unfilled, shrouded exclusively in dark fabric and an image of Raisi laid upon it.

The memorial service parade will proceed to the heavenly Shiite city of Qom on Tuesday evening, where petitions to God are planned at the Fatima Masumeh sanctum.

Prior on Tuesday, memorial service functions started in the northwestern city of Tabriz, where enormous groups wearing dark were seen coating Saint's Square and encompassing roads in the downpour.

A huge truck, embellished with blossoms and hung in the Iranian banner, conveyed the final resting places of Raisi, Unfamiliar Priest Hossein Amir-Abdollahian and the others killed in Sunday's helicopter crash through the groups, the state media pictures show.

In a discourse in Tabriz on Tuesday, Iranian Inside Priest Ahmad Vahidi said that Raisi and Amir-Abdollahian "set a model for bold help and tact," highlighting the Israel-Hamas battle in Gaza.

"Who can neglect Raisi's sincere addresses with regards to Gaza?" Vahidi said, IRNA detailed.

After the functions in Qom, the assortments of Raisi and the others killed will be moved back to Tehran for more arranged burial service functions on Wednesday.

Raisi is booked to be covered on Thursday night at the Imam Reza altar in Mashhad.
